More Than Just Bali
BALI
We flew to Denpasar Bali from Kuala Lumpur with Malaysia Airlines special. We obtained a visa on arrival. The hotel we booked on the internet we were welcomed with a free shuttle. We landed in Bali for a connecting flight to Flores to take a boat to see the Komodo dragons. We spent three days in Bali and were less impressed. The beaches are dirty and garbage were strewn with stranded. The stores sell everything seemed to resort far without complications. We know that people rave about Bali and there is every year, we can only assume they have never been anywhere else to compare.
FLORES
The hotel gave us the best flight to Flores. Flores went to Labuanbajo and remained in the Bajo Komodo Eco Lodge. It was nice and spacious, with a pool and quiet. There is a great restaurant next door. We took some walks and play soccer with the locals and cold drinks bought in a shop in the house. It is outside the city center and to take public transport (motorcycles, trucks or mounted on a trailer).
All travel agencies organize their boat trip to Komodo Island to see the dragons. Search and compare prices from what they offer and what is included. We opted for a day trip the night 02/01. Tours of the night 3 days / 2 no longer include diving. The people we met on these trips wished they had taken the bus the night 2 days / 1 instead. There are boats on the open deck in front of the boat cabin. We chose the open-deck boat where we slept on mattresses on the cover of the canopy. We found it much better than being stuck in a small booth covered. Compared to the ship’s cabin seemed to have more deck space. Although still not well, we went to the islands of the dragon.
Rincon and KOMODO ISLANDS
We left at 8 and Labuanbajo Gavin and I had the captain, sailor and cook on the boat. We went to the island of Rinca where we paid our share first national park, which also includes the island of Komodo (to maintain the security of your ticket). We have seen quite a few dragons our walk with the Rangers. We have never seen so many different colored corals and beautiful. We anchored at night. We were joined by many tourist boats.
The next morning we headed to the island of Komodo. Many dragons roam the compounds especially in the kitchen, hoping for scraps of meat.
The boat took us to another island to dive a bit more than it was pretty poor. In the end, I was still sick, we decided to return to Bali Labuanbajo.
